Dr. Sam Poisal has practiced for the last 33 years in Jefferson City, TN and Atoka, TN. He is a third generation chiropractor. His great uncle, Norman McAdams, and his father Sam Poisal, III, were Chiropractors in Missouri and Tennessee.Dr. Sam attended Central Missouri State University for his undergrad studies and attended Cleveland University for his professional degree. Both his uncle and father were also graduates of Cleveland. Dr. Sam has a son, Arthur, who graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis and practices in Knoxville, TN. Besides his training at Cleveland University, Dr. Poisal received a post graduate degree from National Chiropractic College in Lombard, Illinois. He has also taken hundreds of hours from many nationally recognized post graduate programs in diagnosis, x-ray, rehabilitation practice standards and ethics. Dr. Poisal was on the board for the Out Patient Diagnostic Center in Knoxville, TN, for patient quality and assurance.His other children are Sam V, who is co-owner of Ashton Britt Service Co. in Jefferson City, TN. His son, Andrew, is enlisted in the United States Air Force, and his daughter, Marina, works at the Interstate Blood Bank in Millington, TN.Dr. Poisal enjoys hunting and fishing on his days off. He has hunted and fished in most of the states in our country, plus Canada and Mexico. For a number of years, Dr Sam fished professionally. His considers his biggest achievement was that he finished ahead of Jimmy Houston and Rowland Martin in a major B.A.S.S. tournament on Cherokee lake in 1982.The one thing about my career is there has never been one day that I got up and dreaded going to work. I cannot explain the satisfaction I get from helping others. It’s always been about my patients and not just a job. I hope that we have the opportunity to help many others in the future.
Dr. Dana Poisal was born October 1949 in Memphis, TN. She graduated from Kingsbury High School in 1967 and from University of Memphis in 1971. She worked as a research associate at University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences, Australian National University, and Washington University before she entered Logan College of Chiropractic in 1979. After graduating in 1981, Dr. Poisal worked at the Cole Pain Therapy Clinic in Bartlett, TN and then opened up her own clinic in Raleigh (a suburb of Memphis, TN) in 1985. She now is co-owner of the Atoka Chiropractic Clinic since 2000 with her husband, Dr. Sam Poisal. Dr. Dana has served as President of the Shelby County Chiropractic Association, and Treasurer of the Tennessee Chiropractic Association. In 1990 she was named Tennessee Chiropractic Association Woman of the Year.Dr. Dana has an interest in rehabilitative exercises. She attended a graduate course and received a certificate for 100 hours of study in rehab. She likes to work with small children, pregnant women, young athletes and also likes working with the elderly. She enjoys helping people get out of pain.Dr. Dana and Dr. Sam have four grown children. She enjoys fishing with her husband. They went salmon fishing in Alaska and tarpon fishing in Florida. Dr. Dana landed a 100 pound tarpon! The doctors live and work in Atoka, TN.
